Christmas 2009!

Best Christmas I ever had so far had just passed a couple of days ago!

And nop, I did not hit the club this time with my cousins. Although given the chance, I would quickly grab it. Instead, on Christmas eve I was labouring myself with a whole chunk of turkey + ham! I’m telling you, it is really bigger than it look in the pictures. Never in my life had I ever cook a turkey, much less prepare it. But I suppose there’s always a first time eh?

The process of preparing it took approximately an hour followed by 2.5 hours to bake it. Who knew it takes so long to bake a turkey? And the stuffing?? I just slice whatever I can find in the fridge and mix it all up. Thank goodness nobody had any food poisoning after trashing in the turkey, hams, potato salads and calamari. Halleluya!

The turkey turned out pretty good actually. Surprising. And we didn’t even have any space left for the multiple desserts!

On Christmas I went over to Johann’s place for a mini lunch then head for the Christmas BBQ in Ruffey Lake Park with Linda and the gang. The park is gorgeous!! It was equipped with loads of stuff to play and an amazing space to enjoy. And as usual, we had overflowing of foods to enlarge our tiny tummy. Not to mention, the log cakes, prune cake and biscuits that we HAD to finish.

ps: I am the queen of my own destiny. So you can dream on if you ever think of controlling me.

Gender... differences?

Ladies and gentlemen...

Have you ever realised that the female species are sometimes a little harder to please then men? I do not mean to patronise but sometimes, I feel dealing with males are indeed much less straining.

Women, like myself, are born to be judgemental. First impression is perhaps the moment when most opinions are being labelled like Post-it notes on the defined subject. And trust me, those opinions are ‘sticked’ with elephant glues! Maybe that’s why women make such outstanding HR Managers.

On the contrary, with men, you just need to smile a little with some occasional jokes and you are in the good list almost immediately. It made negotiations so much easier and at least they are easier to compromise. They, at least most of them, are much better in sealing their dislikes. Even if they detest someone, they would still talk to them politely and would not wear their emotions right on their sleeves. And they couldn’t be bothered less towards people that are in their bad books. This also means there will be much less gossips. But it takes almost a lifetime to change their opinion towards the loath one, and it is way worse than women. Men = stubborn beings..

Don’t get me wrong though. I do love gossips, especially with my girls. But talking about someone without any particular logic and implement it on a daily basis, will have its toll.

Then again, this is only MY opinion. And it is obviously not an objective one. After all, it is a well known fact that dealing with the opposite sex can be much easier due to the ‘charming potions’.

=)

ps: I know I am cold-blooded... But I didn’t know you don’t..

A weekend of sins..

Last weekend was unbelievably awesome!

It started with a sleepover at a friend’s place on Friday. Sort of unplanned but turned out pretty fun as well. Better than my previous sleepover at another friend’s place. But, we didn’t get much sleep since we were talking most of the time. As usual.. hehe. Frankly, I don’t really remember what the heck we talked about. The only thing I really recalled was being really cold and shivering a little despite covered by thick blanket. I reckon this is happens every time I drink more than my usual. *One excuse to remind myself not to drink*

The next day, I got called up by a text from my future landlord!!! Cheered me up instantly but the enthusiasm didn’t last really long due to the total lack of sleep. Plus someone kept on snoozing the alarm clock and it annoys me to the max. AND the fact that I had to take this horribly long train ride back to my own house is just the right thing to drain my remaining energy. Perhaps the next sleepover should be at MY house..

Anyway, I crashed right the instant I manage to crawl to bed.. You can only imagine how tired I was.

But sleeping on a weekend is a sin that cannot be forgiven. Hence, not long after I knocked out, the ongoing phone calls to remind me of the next party came buzzing in from my tiny little pink cellphone. It was Ting Ting’s Birthday Party!!

I had to pulled my big fat ass up, take a quick shower, put on some much needed make-ups so that I don’t look like a zombie and head out to Marcela’s place to prepare salad. Do not ask me why it is necessary for 2 person to make a simple salad.. maybe it feels better to make salad together. Hehehe.

The party was packed with people and only ended by midnight. By then, I had a couple of bottles of beer which is not enough to make me tipsy but enough to make me feel sick. But again, it was fun and mingling with them really put my minds off things. We even managed to pre-plan some future parties like Marcela’s Birthday Party. It sounded a blast at that time, but God knows what drunk people can think of.

I woke up the next day, with a throbbing headache. No idea why since I was not tipsy at all. But it is a Sunday, so despite a headache, I still went out dinner with a different group of friends. She just came back from her holidays and it had been ages since I’ve met her. So yeap.. off to the city for a nice dinner and a cup of coffee afterwards. The dinner process was hilarious!! Perhaps it was the most entertaining thing that happened that night. Somehow, we (4 Europeans + 1 Malaysian) chose a Chinese restaurant to dine in and I suppose Europeans aren’t really good in ordering Chinese food. We took approximately 15 minutes just to think of what to order!

They even claim that it’s overly complicated!! (=.=”)

Well, certainly hope another weekend as such is coming soon.

Butters & Indies.. they are really really playful but totally adorable. Makes me crave for my own dog!

ps: just remember, a human heart is capable of more than one capacity.
