G.R.A.D~

Wooooohoooo! I’m done! Finish. GRADUATED!!

And may I just add that it is simply unforgettable. Dad, mom and Jie came over to Melbourne to support me. Alas, my house is a little too tiny to accommodate all of us but Tika was so considerate to excuse herself for a whole of two weeks! So we get to go CUCKOO!! And weather was very very co-operative too, which added to our cuckoo-ness.

Before my big day, we were actually travelling every single day. Let me just list out the itinerary: Phillip Island, Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Great Ocean Road, Geelong and most importantly, shopping. So many things to do, so little time! We had such a great time exploring and doing crazy poses albeit a little tiring.
Graduation was good too. We rented a small house at Geelong and it turned out to be the best decision ever! On graduation, we were all dressed up smartly. Mom and Jie imported a whole lot of dresses for my graduation so my garments department was no way short of choices. Not to forget my lovely Terence too. He had been such an amazing host to my family and was indeed very patient. Really supportive! Best BF ever! Hehhe. Anyway, although the amount of time I actually got on stage is approximately 5 precious mins but it’s worth it!

Now that my dearest family has gone home to Malaysia, life resumes to its usual self. Filming, editing and job searching. Sigh… so quiet… But honestly, I think my family had brought along a lot of luck to me. So hopefully, a job offer is not too far away! =)

Life is as sweet as Macarons! =)

Last trimester!

Work had been exhausting. I know I should not complain considering the hefty wages that they are generously paying me but seriously.. Auditing was tiring but this is a whole different thing. When I was in Audit, I was just a small potato. Its not like I am a big potato now, but just that I had to make more decisions and most of this decisions has ripple effects! But in any case I still like the job, especially when I get to make a video out of it in the coming week. Muahahhaa!!

Studies were even worse!! Bloody effing 13 assessments in a trimester. With online test, financial reports and an aim to publish my group’s journal! I’m speechless. I am so scared and fearful of my studies that I am starting to study in Week 2. Not to mention starting my assignment as well. I go to uni every single day at 8 am and comes back around 6 pm.. On Tuesday, I come home at 9 pm. What is happening to my honey-moon-and-totally-easy-student-life? Sigh... Oh oh!! Its not entirely bad news though. For my last trimester, I got a HD in my HRM!! I know for some folks out there it is an easy thing but trust me when I say that this HD was hard earned and entirely relied on my good karmas. Thank you Buddha!

The house is also an issue. Had been packed! Let’s leave it at that. =)

AND THEN.. there is this job application thing. I had been applying to Graduate Programs around the Big 4 for a week now. Aiming for Audit again.. I know a lot of my friends would say that I am crazy (including my sceptical boyfriend) but I cannot help it. Audit is my passion! At least for this few years. Do not ask why I love Audit coz I am not sure myself. I just felt happy auditing firms. Crazy eh? Anyway, this ‘filling up application thing’ and almost ‘begging to be hired’ is so stressful. Of course, the awareness that I am after all a foreigner here is not making it any easier. Sometimes it made me wonder that wouldn’t it be so much more easier if I just go straight back to Malaysia? But... one can’t give up without trying right?

And finally!! One of my favourite Darlings (you know who you are) is getting married! Yeap!! She’s finally tying the knots!!! I’m so absolutely happy for her. Although I did dropped a tear (or ten..) when I heard the news, I am really happy for her. HONEST!! Her fiancée is undoubtedly a loving one and he treasures her to bits. So I wish them the best of married life and may the fiancée allows me see my Darling when I am back in Malaysia.

See ya next time!!

China Study Tour 2010

I am back in Melbourne! This whole month had been an unbelievable experience. Let’s just say the China Study Tour was much more than I expected. I had abundance of fun, that is a must. But apart from that, I gained much more respect to both China and Hong Kong. Yes, we mentioned about the extreme growth in both areas and frankly being a Malaysian myself, I knew China is growing while HK had already grown yet I still had my doubts. But having to go and actually look at their growth is just beyond imagination and definitely open up my opinion towards those countries. We talked, gossips and sometimes criticize them but you will never know what it is until you go there. Look at their business operations or perhaps look at their business culture. They are just soooo much more advanced than us. And if you compare, you will just realise how shallow you were.. Before I go, I heard numerous rumours about them. And at the end of the trip, I know some are entirely false while some are true. Nevertheless, it is just simply amazing. Also because I met lots of great friends!! (That I will hopefully keep in touch.. hehhee)

There is no downhill though. Am not trying to complain but I got sick for most of the trip. The air quality was just not what I used to and I find myself coughing away. It might also be because that I’m not as tough as I thought I might be. The constant travelling, airports, long bus rides, company visits, seminars, de-briefings and social events totally took their toll on me. The study tour started with Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xi’an then back to Shanghai for a couple of days before heading to Hong Kong. And it is always jam packed with lots of non-stop activities that drag on till 10 pm. I literally only slept around 7 hours for the last 4 weeks, including weekends! For a person that requires at least 1 day of work-free, people-free and sleep-full day in every week, I was exhausted.

Then again, given the chance to do the similar things all over again, I wouldn’t mind at all. And my current wish would be going over to Shanghai or HK for a year to gain experience..

That’ll be so cool!!

Summary of June & July?

Due to the tight schedule these days, including a specific time for my reviews (Yes, I’ve decided to improved my grades), this blog shall be written in bullet form. Who doesn’t like bullet form anyway?! Its short and precise. How nice if exam essays can be written such a way.. Alright, lets start with a couple of things.

1. I’ve got myself two jobs namely the Postgraduate Mentor Drop In Station Team Leader and the Senior Mentor for Off-campus students. Its kind of hard to explain but the main objective here is I get to be involve a lot more in uni, good things to put in resume and a hell lot of EXTRA pocket money which will fund my China + Hong Kong trip in November!!! ( my mom would love to hear this)

2. Darling Jean came and yes, I’m overwhelmed!! We went to lots of places!!! Hehehe.. Feels so much more like home when my sweetest, oldest, closest buddy come over. But I reckon she would be more comfortable if she can stay at my place!!! Which she would if she comes again this year end. FOR FREE!

3. I’ve got my results and though its not as good as last year, its pretty satisfying. What can I expect with the effort I poured in. Let’s say I manage to maintain my HD’s WAM. =)

4. I get to join this Deloitte forum which will last for 12 weeks long and I screwed the on-line test with Deutsche Bank. Bloody hell!! Its like I had a nervous break down or something. The questions isn’t really tough but if only I had more time...

5. I’m looking and had applied for a new house (yeah, again...) Its just that the current house had some issues and it will be so much more convenient for us girls (Tika & I) to have our own sweet home. And bring guys back... LOL!

6. Went for a Footy match!! Its an Australian thing and I think I’m much more into Footy than Soccer. Its so much more interesting to see the men wrestle and the ambience in the stadium is just amazing!!

7. Pictures in FB!

Ps: Just decided to post the pictures in FB for some reason. =)

T2 2010...

I CAN’T GET HD FOR MY FINALS!!

I know I’m being a whiner but I just need to release this sense of depression before I sit for my exams next week. The thing is; my assignments had been so shitty that I need to get like 88/100 in finals to score HDs which is literally IMPOSSIBLE! Bloody no way that is going to happen. I should be well above grateful if I even get a Distinction for each subject.

So yeah, damn it and grades can go to hell.

I need to get rid of this perfectionist side of me. What is the point of scoring perfect HD’s anyway?! There are other things that matter right? Like living your life??? Sob sob... and besides, who gets perfect HD anyway???!!

Sigh.... Gonna forget about HD and just do my eff-ing best.

ps: Dear God, despite the fact that I said I couldn't care less, I actually do. So please help me in my finals to get a HD... A Distinction will be good too but please not a Credit. PLEASE!! I BEG YOU!!
