Family mischief

I know it is far over the time that I should blog about my recent escapade to Malacca with my sister and future bro-in-law (Ashton Tan). But then again, who cares? (^_^)

Anyway, the trip to Malacca was actually an interesting one. None of us are familiar with the place and I have only been there for 2 times. Hence, equipped with only a GPRS and my memories we decided to brave ourselves to the unknown! After a two hours drive, we manage to reach Jonker Street in one piece.*Thank God* Firstly, we attacked the chicken rice balls. Subsequently, we dined in the authentic Chendol Stall! This is actually my favourite although my sis + Ashton said the Chendol is so-so only. Chis, tak guna! They don’t know what good food is! Moving on, after the desserts, we figure walking along the Jonker Street was a good way to burn all the calories. (not to mention our purses as well) We shopped till around 6, before heading to the Eyes on Malaysia, only to be told that the night view will be much better. Feeling a little bit ‘hau han(in Chinese, meant: have to nibble something), Ashton immediately looked up for local delicacies nearby through his GPRS. Eventually, he found a Popiah stall in Jalan Bunga Raya. And then clicked! I recall that Jeffrey (an old college mate) once bought me to this super-delicious Popiah. So there we go, and I would like to proudly announce that we actually made it to the stall. Smart eh? Thankfully, the Popiah was NOT a disappointment. My sis and Ashton even said that it is ‘orgasmic’! Hehe... After the Popiah, we went for a little joy-ride and then head back to the Eyes on Malaysia for a couple of rounds in the ferry wheel. Once done, we scoot over to a Wan Tan mee stall for dinner before driving back home. It was a very tiring day indeed but nevertheless, fun as well.

The sinfully delicious Chendol

I Love this pic of them!
PS: Ashton told me I was only invited because they need a photographer.. (T.T)

Oh yeah, not to forget, my family recent Karaoke session in Neway, Puchong. We sang from 7 pm till 1 am and it costs us RM 200 in total! Thanks to Sheryl Ng (my cousin/aunt) for treating us. Muackz Senorita!! Although the buffet dinner was not up to standard, we still manage to sing like mad-cow! LLALALALA~~~

Drama Series

Ever realise that Asians like to produce depressing and heart-breaking dramas? These drama series tend to highlight the worst part of humanity, such as betrayal, back-stabbing and brutal cruelty. For example, Rosy Business, Winter Sonata, Autumn in My Heart, Beautiful Life etc. In my opinion, life is already cruel enough, so why do we need such unnecessary advertisement to know how much more vicious can people be? I’m not saying the dramas are terrible. The set of crews are indeed excellent to be able to portray such life-touching scenes. But why.. why does people like to watch sad stories! (Perhaps my conscious is too weak to accept that it is just fictional..)

Anyway, the reason I would suddenly bring up this subject is because my sister, Ivy, was watching the bloody obnoxiously sad Chinese drama, yesterday night!! I have clearly indicated to her that I have no intention to watch such sadistic drama, in the middle of the night (2am to be precise).. In fact, I have curled under the blanket, put the pillow on my head, block her view, make disturbing noises, jump up and down and literally BEGGED her! Yet, all my attempts fell on a deaf ear. Of course I can always go back to my room and sleep in my single and peaceful bed. But I love sleeping with my sister. It is a habit since young and since I’m leaving soon, spending some quality time with her is not a bad idea. Still, that heartless, unloving sista insist on watching something that I despise. In the end, we watched the drama till 4.30 am. Imagine what 2 hours of mental agony can do to such frail little girl like me... I couldn’t even have a good night sleep after that as my mind keep drifting to the cruel side of humans. How true can that drama be?!

Official disclosure..

Few weeks back, I promised my sister, Ivy, that on my tenth blog I will officially disclose my blog’s address.

I was still on my fifth blog that time and then “VIOLA!” here it is..

For those who have yet to know about my sister, Ivy, allow me to let you see a glimpse of the devil that lies beneath her angelic look. IVY GAN is a pain in my neck sometimes; as her mood is so volatile that it fluctuates likes the stock market! However, this only happens to family members since she treats her friends pretty nice. The most respectable qualities about her would be.. she can torture me and at the same time tell me she ‘sayang’ me a lot!

Same goes to my mother, Coreen. Mom is pretty much the type of mother that I categorised as both contemporary and conventional, in economic terms. She owns a Facebook account, chat via msn messenger, uses e-mail to keep herself updated with her friends, socialise quite well and get really wild fun when we go out for an outdoor trip. Yet, her views on relationships and ethics are still very strong. BUT, sometimes she can nag remind me the same thing for 5 times within 10 minutes. Still, I think she’s the coolest mom that I ever met.

On the other hand, my father is an opposite of his wife. Captain (Major) Gan a.k.a the ‘Golden Cow’ is the Best Dad in my world but during his younger days he is quite uptight and intimidating. Not as free spirited and approachable like my mom. I am positive that if I were there when they got married, I will think that, “What a cute and funny couple they make!” But both of them still stayed very strong to this day. In any case, his temper changes as he grew older. Now, he is even much crazier than my mom! *He invented the hilarious snake-dance in the family~~ Something similar to the Madagascar ones. Oolala~~*

Muackz!
