Drama Series

Ever realise that Asians like to produce depressing and heart-breaking dramas? These drama series tend to highlight the worst part of humanity, such as betrayal, back-stabbing and brutal cruelty. For example, Rosy Business, Winter Sonata, Autumn in My Heart, Beautiful Life etc. In my opinion, life is already cruel enough, so why do we need such unnecessary advertisement to know how much more vicious can people be? I’m not saying the dramas are terrible. The set of crews are indeed excellent to be able to portray such life-touching scenes. But why.. why does people like to watch sad stories! (Perhaps my conscious is too weak to accept that it is just fictional..)

Anyway, the reason I would suddenly bring up this subject is because my sister, Ivy, was watching the bloody obnoxiously sad Chinese drama, yesterday night!! I have clearly indicated to her that I have no intention to watch such sadistic drama, in the middle of the night (2am to be precise).. In fact, I have curled under the blanket, put the pillow on my head, block her view, make disturbing noises, jump up and down and literally BEGGED her! Yet, all my attempts fell on a deaf ear. Of course I can always go back to my room and sleep in my single and peaceful bed. But I love sleeping with my sister. It is a habit since young and since I’m leaving soon, spending some quality time with her is not a bad idea. Still, that heartless, unloving sista insist on watching something that I despise. In the end, we watched the drama till 4.30 am. Imagine what 2 hours of mental agony can do to such frail little girl like me... I couldn’t even have a good night sleep after that as my mind keep drifting to the cruel side of humans. How true can that drama be?!
