Last Sunday (19.7.09), I went to a fantastic road trip to Mt. Buller. It is the few places in Melbourne that only snows during winter, so the bunch of us needs to go there before the season ends. This blog will tells you (the reader) of our experience to Mt.Buller. *Those not interest can stop reading now~*
Anyway, the 4 of us in 308 Burwood Hwy, consisting of my housemates (Tika + Hani) and Adik (@Rangga, Tika’s bro) woke up at 7 am that day. SEVEN! For what exactly? I have no idea. We were just eating our breakfast and wearing our layers and layers of clothes, which took us an hour or so. For that, I need to highlight my dress code for the day: 1 tank top, 2 long sleeves, 1 winter jacket, 1 wind breaker, 2 layers of gloves, 1 stocking, 1 panty hose, 2 socks, 1 jeans, 1 scarf, 1 snow cap and 1 boot. Some would say that I’m being a little too paranoid about the cold but we can never be too safe! I don’t wanna get my leg/finger amputated due to the cold!!
So.. Yeah. I was just being safe. = )
Anyway, our transport came around 8.45 am and after we board it, we picked up a couple of girls along the way. The total people that went to this trip are 9. The others are mainly Tika’s friends who are mostly Hong-Ky and Malaysians. Surprise eh? Anyway, the bunch of us mingled rather well and throughout the first hour of the journey we updated ourselves a lot. Chitty-chatty~~ The second hour was more to replenishing our energy a.k.a sleeping. ZZzzzz......
At the end of the second hour, we reached this town in which we initially decided to purchase the wheel chain. Unfortunately, they do not have the van’s size so off we go, continuing our journey. HOWEVER, we got lost as soon as we left the town. Somehow, we suddenly got into a small village where the roads are merely dirt. The irony is, we were following the GPS! And the bloody idiotic machine just kept repeating, “Go straight, Go straight” in a very sexy tone. Please.. its just a machine! And how are we did we know that the GPS is an idiot?!
When we got stuck in a mud pool !!!
And all of us need to get down and start pushing the car out of the mud. Sob sob.. My white boot!! Obviously the van didn’t budge much. Then again, what can 7 girls do in such scenario? Use our assets of course! (Includes body structure, nice hair and cute voices.. ^^) Eventually, some nice lads from the village came and helped, with their 4WD. And in just a matter of seconds, the van is free! Yeah!!
All in all, despite the mess we make to the van and ourselves, it was a pretty fun experience. =)
Within an hour plus, we finally reached Mt.Buller. It was exhilarating! All is snowy-white! = )
We took our lunch in the car before heading out.
The night before, the 4 of us actually made our own sandwiches!
Then, we all took a shuttle bus up to the mountain.
Pretty cold initially but once I’ve get used to it, it is just nice.
Then took the ski-cable-bench up to the peak
Build a mini snowman as soon as we reached the peak. It was a dream come true!
And walk (sometimes roll) our way down... Golek golek~~
Took loads of pictures and video while we walk/run/skid/roll down. LOL!
Linda even rent a skiing boat (I think that’s what its called..) and let us play with it~
And I manage to make a butterfly.. sort of.
We left Mt.Buller at 5 plus and only reach home at around 9. It was a tiring and yet just plain fun. Period.
